1: Reflection
  • A montage of images.
+++++
Panel 1: A hand dropping a chain or necklace into another outstretched hand.
-----
Panel 2: Pridhee and Kheid walking through the market with Bhotha leading them on excitedly.
-----
Panel 3: Mist. Barely visible through it in the distance, the figure of a woman.
-----
Panel 4: Ruins of a city, columns jutting up underneath a destroyed arch, more stark remnants visible in the background.
-----
Panel 5: Thoma, his face bloody, staring with an expression of furious, raging hatred.
2: The Transience of Memory
  • A passerby getting taken in by a game of shells by a street hustler. While he's occupied, a pickpocket steals his moneypurse.
-----
Meanwhile, a youth is staring at myriad strings about wrapped around fingers and arms, trying to remember what each one was supposed to be a reminder for.
-----
The strings are now discarded in a trashcan, and the youth is scratching looking confused over a newly-puchased memory stone.
-----
Passing by the table where the passerby is arguing with the street hustler over his newly-disappeard moneypurse, the youth discards the memory stone in frsutration.
-----
The youth, disgruntled, passes two Cossan merchants just arrived to Alankha.

Mostly this is a placeholder; the comic didn't actually start until June 6, but because we launched with a couple of strips already up we had to put them somewhere. Just think of this as that cellar you were always afraid to go into as a kid but which you just knew held some magnificent treasure buried under boxes, old lamps, and pictures of people with absurd hairstyles.
