We've been pimping the comic various places over the last couple months, a fact which has not been exactly hidden around here. The problem, I think, is that a great deal of our information is out of date: Comixpedia gained us virtually nothing by sponsorship, which I think is a case of us being one signal lost in the throe of so many others. The fantasy exchange banner that was up here for the past two weeks turned out to be less than worthless--either it's defunct or so poorly run that after several emails and a couple of weeks we were never put in the rotation, so that got dropped with prejudice. If anyone else is considering going with the Drowtales fantasy banner exchange, don't bother. You'll get nothing.
Each of these used to be fantastic methods of advertising, which leads me to wonder what's happened. Sometimes things go defunct, I guess. Sometimes things get too popular, which leads to a dilution of the audience for everybody. As always, it's catching things on the upswing that's the trick.
We've also been playing around with Google Ads a bit--I think I may have mentioned this before. So far the results are somewhat mixed: we do have people clicking on ads, technically, but they don't really seem to be coming back. Normally, this would point towards something being a little off in our ad campaign--either we're putting ourselves on the wrong sites, or we're not using effective ads. One way or another, we should fix this.
Figuring that you, the readers, have the best idea of what you like, I turn to you: if there are any sites you think we should be paying particular attention to with our advertising budget, please let us know! |
Ahhh. I'm still coming down from my Okami buzz. If you have a PS2, I highly recommend this game. It's beautiful, and wholey unique. And it combines drawing with gameplay! This fall has been good to me as far as games go....but there's a bit of melencholy to it, too, as the release dates for the Wii and PS3 approach. There's no way I can afford them, particularly the PS3, despite my interest in some of the games *cough*FF13!*cough*
My only thought is that they must be lacing the company coffee with mercury over at Sony, 'cause they're mad as a hatter. |
